Not So Child Friendly
My favourite exercise is swimming and I do try to stay in hotels that have a pool. The last 2 weeks I booked the right hotels but forgot it is high season for holidays, and I may be a snob but I don't like sharing my quiet swim with noisy children.
It meant I couldn't swim in the evenings or rather chose not to, but at 6am most children were still in bed.
Pah! The presence of kids should be a motivation not an annoyance.
They're doing twice as much exercise just by running around, jumping, squealing...and doing what is *meant* to be done in a pool - having a hoot!
Its like the old quote: People say when you get older, you stop acting like a child, but what they *should* be saying is - when you stop acting like a child, that's when you start to get old.
Given the choice of cranking boring laps out back and forth, following a black line on the bottom of the pool, versus splashing around, running, diving, plus the occasional lap at different speeds in imaginary races against alien space ships in a fictional attack on the hotel pool...I know which one will get you more exercise, more fun, and keep you (really) alive longer...

Just my $0.02 worth
